About this course?:
 
Diesel generator protection has two wings, one mechanical and one electrical. The mechanical protections or sometimes called safeties are concerned with protecting the diesel engine prime mover against abnormalities when the mechanical operational parameters limits are exceeded by either shutting down the diesel engine and/or just by giving alarm. While the electrical protections use protection relay or relays to monitor the electrical parameters and when they are exceeded they trip the circuit breakers and/or shut down the prime mover. This two days course discusses both protections and how they done and what are the instruments involved.
