	This 2 days course starts discussing the industrial noise concepts and how sound propagates in free field and in rooms. Then it discusses the diesel engine exhaust system and how to attenuate the sound coming from the engine combustion chambers. Types and techniques of mufflers will be discussed and design concepts will also be studied along with exercises. Then the course discusses the aerodynamic design of exhaust mufflers and how to calculate the pressure drop and how to minimize the back-pressure.
